On March 18th, 1989 Frank Dunshee started High Volume Car Stereo with $5,000 and a dream. The building wasn't optimal. It was a one car garage shack with dirt floors on Sheridan Rd. in a field. It didn't matter. The first week he was in business he made enough money to pay the loan back and have been in business ever since.
When Nick joined in 1995 at 15 years old, car audio was everything. The technology was evolving fast — CD players, touchscreens, subwoofers that rattled windows — and customers wanted all of it. High Volume was there for every bit of it. Car shows, bass competitions, trophies, and a reputation that started growing and never stopped.
By 1999 Frank invested in the future and purchased the building across the street — still HV's home today. The little shop that everyone underestimated was starting to prove people wrong.
When Frank passed away in 2015, Nick and Jessica Beckmann took ownership of the business he built. Nick had already been at High Volume for 20 years — mastering the craft from the ground up and building an instinct for problem-solving that no school could produce. Nick alone has over 60,000 vehicles installed in his career.
From day one as owners, the standard was clear: best tools, best products, best people, real inventory. Every employee is W-2 with fair wages, vacation pay, holiday pay, IRA matching, and bonuses. That commitment was made in 2015 and has been kept every year since.
Their daughters Isabella and Nora grew up at the shop. Their son Clayton even briefly worked there — the kind of family business where the next generation literally grows up in the building.

In December 2024, High Volume purchased the building next door — a 2,600 square foot building with a large parking lot and lots of potential. It added a dedicated window tint bay, a full fabrication shop with CNC machine and 3D printer, extra parking and an expanded operational capacity across both buildings.
This wasn't a luxury — it was the next logical step for a shop that had outgrown its space. High Volume now has the facility, the tools, and the team to handle anything.
